The best-laid plans of mice
Apr. 17th, 2012 04:03 pmFive years ago I started my England website as a sideline, hoping to earn enough money that I could cut back the hours on my day job and make more time to write. For five years, I effectively worked two jobs - the site is the size of 2 novels by now - and managed to fit in some fiction whenever there was a chance.
In January, I started my own business - half want half necessity - hoping to find more time to work on the England site while business was building. I've landed my first clients now, but seem to spend most of my time working on Web to Success, designing training courses and marketing material, and - horror of horrors! - having to go out to networking meetings! The work snowballs, the England site's being left behind and as for writing fiction...?
I really need to petition for more hours in the day and I feel incredibly stupid and naive...
Ah well, tomorrow is another day and I'll hopefully feel more positive. Just needed to get this off my chest, somehow.
