I haven't taught a course in ages. I've never taught in an English school. Tomorrow I'm doing both. So... butterflies and not much useful work getting done. There are clothes to select, nails to paint, hair to do...never mind going through slides and working on timings.

Then this happens and my fangirl heart squeals.
Y'all know that Yunho's been in cooperation with Minetani to design some pendants. Now they're out and - apparently - they are dog tags and the story behind it is: Unwavering love even if we’re apart from each other.

Honestly, who needs a writer when you've got this...
Minspiration... just when I needed it most.
Thank you.

...and apart from two cups of tea and two large cappucinos I haven't even had breakfast yet. So a plate of pizza, a glass of red and some writing time will come in right handy for an hour or so before I head back to work.

I'm absolutely buzzing after a long, long chat with my writing buddy about this crazy idea that suddenly jumped out at me only to scare me silly. You might have seen it around, entitled Prophecy. She posed some questions that literally left me slack-jawed and gaping and that are making me think that after this year's projects - House Hunt, FanBait and (maybe) Leap of Faith - are done, I could add Prophecy or whatever it morphes into, to next year's novel schedule alongside Wayward.

Ambitious, sure. I'll be drowning in feels by the time I'm done. But if this idea stays with me... and right now it very much seems that it will... then I think I need to take this chance to write something that will hurt like hell. The last time I did that, Job Hunt happened. So, maybe, it's easier second time around. And right now at least, it gives me the chance to write some JaeMin, which I've not done before.

In other good news, I've finally said goodbye to my Blackberry and opted for something new. It doesn't have any more signal than the BB, but at least I can now use an app that lets me make calls through my wifi. Or that's the theory at least. First, I need to learn how to stop all the annoying beeps and whistles before they drive me insane.
But hey, what would be the fun of a day without learning something new, right?

Chained to my desk this afternoon trying to get stuff finished before a week in York.  Wondering why crises never make appointments. Like disasters, apocalypses and.. other reasonable things.

Having dinner beside the keyboard (and a glass of wine) reading email.  My eye is caught by one of the daily Groupon ads:
Appple MacBook Pro, Lash Serum, Hells Kitchen Baking Set, Japanese Maple Plants

And because I've not got enough to do yet (and absolutely nothing to write) my Pinot Noir soaked fiction brain now clamours to connect these random items with an orderly plot spiced with some drama.  When did my head get changed to one of those plot generator programs?

Just wondering...

I'll never feel strange about my similes ever again...

Real life can be a bitch!  Truly.  Even when matters go well, there tends to be a kink somewhere.  Moving jobs, house, county and - finally - deciding to ditch job altogether and set up my own business all add up to RL fun activities.  But they also effectively killed the writing muse.  Fiction and non-fiction alike.  For far too long.  I suppose, writing all day long for a living just does that.

Then someone introduced me to Bleach.  And fanfic. And the muse started to sit up and take notice.  I've never really been a fangirl.  Actually, I haven't written fanfic in over 20 years when I borrowed Mr Spock for a story I can barely remember but can probably find if I dig in the attic.  Manga, though, is a completely different issue.  It seems to take root in my brain.  And the amount, scope and quality of Bleach fanfic available is simply breathtaking - to the point where it wouldn't suprise me if I never wrote another line.

That's not how it works, though.  While Bleach prompts me to drabble, Brave 10 got me plotting and playing.  There's actually a story in there, of a short-tempered samurai, a crazy redhead and some past.  And then, when things were going so well, [livejournal.com profile] baroqueangel caught my attention with a Soubi/Ritsuke drabble... and now I'm reading Loveless by the stack!  And before my Brave 10 story is even finished.

It just never rains...
