When it never just rains....

Real life can be a bitch! Truly. Even when matters go well, there tends to be a kink somewhere. Moving jobs, house, county and - finally - deciding to ditch job altogether and set up my own business all add up to RL fun activities. But they also effectively killed the writing muse. Fiction and non-fiction alike. For far too long. I suppose, writing all day long for a living just does that.
Then someone introduced me to Bleach. And fanfic. And the muse started to sit up and take notice. I've never really been a fangirl. Actually, I haven't written fanfic in over 20 years when I borrowed Mr Spock for a story I can barely remember but can probably find if I dig in the attic. Manga, though, is a completely different issue. It seems to take root in my brain. And the amount, scope and quality of Bleach fanfic available is simply breathtaking - to the point where it wouldn't suprise me if I never wrote another line.
That's not how it works, though. While Bleach prompts me to drabble, Brave 10 got me plotting and playing. There's actually a story in there, of a short-tempered samurai, a crazy redhead and some past. And then, when things were going so well,
baroqueangel caught my attention with a Soubi/Ritsuke drabble... and now I'm reading Loveless by the stack! And before my Brave 10 story is even finished.
It just never rains...

Date: 2012-06-09 09:31 pm (UTC)You should also check out the anime. It's only twelve episodes, but it's worth it if only to see Soubi animated. *sigh*
I have to practically make myself work on my original stuff sometimes, lol. Fanfic is a definite drug. :-)

Date: 2012-06-10 04:10 pm (UTC)I've started watching anime while doing the ironing - the one household chore I really hate - and last weekend I started on Loveless. It's so beautifully put together, I'm just in awe. And confused why it stopped?
Needless to say, not much ironing was getting done.
Soubi in a high-necked top, slinging spells around... yes, definitely worth leaving the ironing for.
